Today the Carnes's had a family outing in Brown County State Park, near Nashville, Indiana. It's a really nice park, in the rolling hills of southern Indiana near Bloomington. This would be Maddie's first time on a picnic, and we like to think that she had a good time. She did sleep through most of it, but she also ate her picnic lunch (3 oz. of Similac) after Jill and I finished ours.

Originally I had planned to get a picnic set to celebrate our anniversary, but when the day came it was 95 degrees outside, and it really wasn't the best time for sitting around outside. Today, on the other hand, was the perfect day to be in the park.
Mom and baby posing for a nice picture at the picnic table.
Maddie did a lot of sleeping, but she eventually woke up and checked out the park.
This picture is from Brown County State Park's website, but as you can see, the park is located in an area surrounding by forests and hills, and there are many scenic overlooks with elderly people in rain slickers, on bikes.
This is our picnic site. The park is only $5.00 per car, and it's well worth it. This spot was next to a creek in a large field. Unfortunately when we got there we had to scrounge the car for some cash, due our extensive use of the check cards we never seem to have any real money. We were able to come up with 3 dollar bills, 7 quarters, a dime and 15 pennies, so they let us in.

Isn't it sad that most of us now days wouldn't be able to find or have 5 dollars cash? We would be in the same boat. I don't even know if we could scrounge up anything. Glad to see that Maddie is getting out places and enjoying herself! Glad you guys had fun.
