Colts Win!

1 week ago our Colts faced the Chicago Bears in the Super Bowl in Miami. It was the first Super Bowl for Indianapolis, and the entire city was going crazy for the game, and our friends invited us over to watch it. Unfortunately we couldn't all make it. While Jill and Madelyn were going over to our friends place to watch the big game (and big win), I was going to Indianapolis International to head up to Toronto for a work trip. We had set it up back in mid-January, when we thought Peyton Manning and our Colts were only another postseason choke-job away from going home early. As we all now know, that didn't happen this year. This year not only did the Colts, our home team make the Super Bowl, but even more amazingly the Bears made it too.
Jill taped the game for me on the DVR, so I had a chance to watch it once I got back home from Canada on Tuesday (we got snowed in Monday night), including all of the commercials (I liked the one with Carlos Mencia, teaching the ESL guys how to ask for a Bud Light).
The city did a good job of decorating the dome and elsewhere. Every one of the big buildings downtown was adorned with the Colts horseshoe, Super Bowl Champs, or other gear.
Lucas Oil Stadium. Couldn't be Lucas Field, or Lucas Stadium. Lucas Oil Stadium. Oil. Indiana. Those go hand-in-hand. Regardless of the corporate-purchased name, the new Colts stadium is currently under construction and will be ready for the 2008 football season.
