Lots of Outings

Once again it has been a month since we posted. Things are great! Amelia is now 5 months old and has been on cereal and 1st foods for a month now!
Madelyn is getting an extensive vocabulary that includes: "I don't want to" and "Never again _______ (insert thing she has done wrong)". Madelyn continues to go to her Music classes at Gymboree on Wed. mornings and we have been getting out to do more, as you will see from this post. Madelyn continues to love Amelia (Or "Yee-Yuh" as she says it). Amelia won Madelyn's heart by watching Dora with her.

Chuck and I are well. Chuck has been working long hours and I honestly don't know how he does it sometimes. He is still working on his MBA and is starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I have enjoyed being home and with the girls. Seems like there is always some small project to be working on!

We have been trying to get out and do an outing once a week. About a month ago, I took the girls to the zoo by myself! We have a membership, so I figured it was no big deal if we had to leave. The weather was great and the girls were so well behaved! Going during the week, there aren't many people there, which makes it easy to watch Maddie. Every animal we went to see was a baby or Mommy or Daddy of that animal.

Before we left the zoo, Maddie wanted to ride the carousel. Both the girls loved it!
The next week we went to a really nice park in Plainfield. Plainfield is just west of the airport and is where Chuck works. They have a really great parks system, so we went to play and then Chuck met us at the park for lunch.
Maddie was able to get Chuck on the Merry-go-round.
Maddie is obsessed with turning wheels. This park had several, so she was in heaven. This one happened to be in a tractor, so she said she was driving the truck.

The following week we went to Bouncertown. For $6 per child, they can play all they want in the blow-up bouncer houses. We went with my friend Stacey and her boys Brayden (he's 3) and Bryce (he's 3 months). It seriously took Maddie 40 minutes before I finally convinced/bribed her to get on the bouncer. Finally she did and loved it. She played forever in the toddler areas.

After awhile she said she wanted to slide. I asked her if she wanted to do the whale slide. She ran right over, climbed up by herself and slid down. I couldn't believe it.

After awhile, she even moved on to the giant yellow slide. Seriously, these things were huge, but she did it...by herself!

Those things are huge, we have some here at soccer zone!! I don't know if there are enough things to bribe Maya with to get her to go up those, but the last time we went she was a little over 2, so who knows!! Good job braving the girls on your own in public, now it's all down hill!!
